White people in the 1960s treated blacks like they were trash. They would sleep with their woman so they could get a job and feed their families. As it shows in the book, "Not if they want to eat--or feed their kids," says the man giving John a ride. And if they thought some black man was going to start trouble they would jail or kill them. In the book "Black Like Me"says,"We either ship them to the pen or kill them," says the same man. I think that one day the blacks are going to get tired of being treated like trash and just a big war with the whites.
